I didn't know what it was, but if you are to spend your life working at something and there's an opportunity to be in a place that you respect, that you're drawn to, where there is going to be substantial changes. My decision was I will try and be part of this in some way. And so I went back to New Zealand and sold the few assets I had and I came back to Beijing and made it up from there

  • There's still 900 million people who earn less than four to 500 New Zealand dollars a month. They're the energy. They're the force as they urbanize or they move from more remote, perhaps marginal urban settings to better cities in their provinces and on the coast. So it is extraordinary. So something's worked.
